Featuring members of Futurebirds, The Interns are an American glam metal band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1980. The group was founded by bass guitarist Brannen Miles, keys player TJ Mimbs (who is often described as a 'one-man jam-band' due to his frequent use of live phrase looping with multiple instruments), and drummer Payton Bradford, who were later joined by lead guitarist Carter King and lead singer Thomas Johnson. The Interns have sold more than 80 million album copies worldwide, including 25 million in the U.S.
